Nata come album degli Who nel 1969, \u00e8 diventata anche un film di culto, con Ken Russell alla regia e un cast di stelle in cui a Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Keith Moon e John Entwistle si affiancano Eric Clapton, Elton John, Tina Turner e Jack Nicholson. Protagonista del racconto musicale \u00e8 un ragazzo nato alla fine della Prima guerra mondiale, diventato sordo, cieco e muto dopo di una serie di cruenti eventi familiari. Scopertosi un mago del flipper, il ragazzo trova in questa passione innocente la via del riscatto.
